I don't know if this has been covered here before, but does anyone know what company got the use of the Sunburst as a logo after the demise of National? Thanks for the help!

There could have been one airline before it, but I know now defunct Southeast Airlines used the logo.

Could it be SY?

No, it's not SY or G4.

Here's the old National Airlines Logo:

Sun Country's logo and Allegiant's logo (in the previous post) are totally different.

Plus, if you look for photos in the database, the current logos being used by Allegiant and Sun Country have been around since at least 2003. Southeast Airlines didn't cease operations until December 1, 2004.

The SY logo looks hideous. That orange clashes horribly with the blue. I've never understood why that company chose the name "Sun Country". The two words don't go together and don't make sense together.

Now I think the blue helps "pop" the orange outward. The name Sun Country makes sense to me, they originally started flying from MSP to SUNshine destinations across the COUNTRY.

There was also Key Air International who in the early 90's got 4-5 MD-80's and had that same logo. They lasted about 4-5 months and went bust. I think Private Jet ended up with some of thier former MD-80's

The right decision at the wrong time, is still a wrong decision. "Hal Carr"

Now, the choice of colors Sun Country used may not be to your liking, but in terms of the color spectrum, blue and orange are complementary colors...they go together perfectly and cannot 'clash.'

The compass rose on the Sun Country logo also looks a bit like a sand dollar.

Being a former SY employee and a Florida Gator Fan. I LOVE Blue N Orange. Our SY logo was a sunburst to begin with, but it had to be changed.
