I do have a question and am hoping that somebody might help me out.

I'm going to fly from Germany to MEX this September, with return in mid October. Since I really want to try the B757 with CO over the pond and since CO is only going to join *A on October 24th I was think about a way how to get the miles to my M&M account later. Would it be possible to get a CO FF Card and later transfer those miles to my Miles and More account? Or will I have to deal with both accounts? Is it actually possible to get an upgrade by using two different FF programms of different airlines but the same alliance?

And in general, are the B757 doing transcon for CO finally equipped with PTVs or is that not going to happen?

Many thanks for your responds.

GlobeEx

no , that is their last day in Skyteam , they have already said that there will be a 'limbo' period of at least a couple of days after that before they can join *A

usually miles are not transferrable from one programme to another .

All 41 of CO's 757-200s are equipped with AVOD, the 17 (soon to be 21) 757-300s that operate domestically will getting Live Tv installed.

If by transcon you really mean intercon, all CO 757-200s are fitted with PTVs featuring AVOD.

As far as the miles go, there's no way to transfer those points. Your best bet is to either go with LH or one of the other Star partners if you want to earn M&M on this itinerary.

Oh yes, of course, sorry.

Okay, that's what I thought. However, would it be possible if you turn up at the gate and have lets say 13000 CO miles and whatever MM miles (but not enough for an upgrade) to pack them together? Anybody know?

I believe not , usually you have to have sufficient points in a single programme .

I'm afraid if you showed up at the gate the agents head would probably pop off if you asked them to do something like that. While I'm sure it is impossible, your FF program help desk would know for sure.

Yea, your best bet would be to call and ask both LH and CO, or you can ask that annoying new "virtual expert" named Alex on CO's website......

No, you can't really do that.
What you COULD DO, however, is dip out of each account for some upgrades. For example, use your Continental miles to upgrade outbound segments, and your M&M miles to upgrade your return legs.

I hope you enjoy CO. It's no KLM, but it's certainly the best carrier we've got left in the States, IMHO. Even if they did just ditch AS.....

I appreciate all you comments. So lets see either I will go CO, or just LH as usual and get an upgrade to C on the return flight.

I am relieved to hear that CO is not as bad as KL ( at least I hope that is what you were saying , if it is the other way around then based on my experiences of KL I certainly would not want to fly CO ) .
