Flightaware says that the 77W is scheduled to operate AI 140 tonight. Is this an error or is this true? What is the reasoning for this?

Why is this such a mystery, a 77W should have no problem from Mumbai to JFK.

Because the 77W has never flown this route before. At least as far as I'm aware. I'm fully aware that the 77W is capable of flying this route. I was just curious, that's all.

As stated right next to the type of aircraft, Flightstats shows the aircraft that was scheduled in the GDS, not what necessarily operated the flight. But you could be right, I really don't know.

Here is a link but I suppose I won't know if it happened or not unless someone actually saw the aircraft at JFK.

No that is not right. Any schedule change or gauge change even on the last minute is updated on flightstats. AI's London schedules on flightstats gives details accurate detail whether if it is a B77W or B77L to LHR.

OTOH, I've noticed Flightaware showing regular errors. I mean on A.net itself many members have posted regular errors in fligtaware.com

Per acarsd.org logs, on both 6th and 9th Aug, AI 140/141 were flown by VT-ALL, which is indeed a 77W.

You're welcome. Note FlightAware is now showing Aug 12th flights 140 & 141 planned to be 77W.
Let's see if the scheduling pattern repeats again after 3 days (will the Aug 15th flights be a 77W as well).
