Acc. Dutch Aviation website 2 Martinair Boeing 767s will be ferried for storage to the USA this coming Wednesday.

Both aircraft are planning to stop-over at BDL to clear customs and then continuing.
Should be tailnumbers PH-MCG and PH-MCH.

Thanks for the information - very interesting. BDL sees a fair number of customs stop-overs and such, but mainly for RJs (for instance, we had two Conviasa CRJ7s here last week). JetBlue also uses BDL as a stopover for A320s that are being returned to Europe, although it's been a few months since I've seen one of those.

Please keep us posted if you get any more definitive information regarding arrival/departure times into BDL as I'd like to catch these if they come in or depart during photo-friendly hours. In the meantime, I'll keep my eyes on FlightAware.

If my information is correct, these 2 planes are not just on their way for storage, but are actually going to be parted out. If so, I think this is the first time that a 767-300ER is headed for the scrapyard. Sad.

Thanks for the pics, John and especially to Eham for the heads-up. Several of us went out to BDL to catch these 767s, and they arrived right as Eham said they would. Just as we were getting ready to leave the airport, we spotted a steady stream of JFK-bound heavies from Europe following them into BDL - a big JFK diversion day due to storms, and speaking for myself I'd have missed all the action if I hadn't been at the airport to catch the Martinair planes. We all had a great time.

The Martinair planes caused a bit of a wrinkle for BDL ops, as many times they park JFK diversions over on the Runway 6 de-ice pad. Well, the de-ice pad was occupied by the Martinair 767s, meaning they had to get creative in finding other spots to stuff the diversions into. Things were a little crazy while they got this sorted.

Sad to see these birds flying without the MP titles. I assume, seeing their age, they will be parted out?  Sad

Anything known about a possible replacement at MP?

There's a good picture of some of the more interesting diversions on the home page of the Bradley Yahoo! Group:
