I was just wondering today, I went spotting at YYC near 16:00, looking to capture KL land on 34, but unfortunately I got stuck in traffic and eventually only took the photos from the vehicle.
When I got to the spotting area, I was really mad that I had missed the KL landing, but I took out my binoculars, and look to a distance from 3km away, and I notice that the Lufthansa A340-300 is still at the gate. LH 495 is supposed to depart at 13:15, but today I watched it take off and it stayed there until 17:40.
Can anyone tell me why it was so delayed today, and why it was not connected to the terminal. It was just parked outside the C Concourse. I have also included some of the horrible photos which I took today.
Also some of the other flights from the United Kingdom, which were arriving in Calgary were delayed, does anyone know what caused these delays in Europe?
Lufthansa finally leaving at 17:40. Two flights from Calgary will be arriving in Frankfurt at twenty minutes apart. The other being AC 845 (A333)

Info from a fellow spotter friend of mine at Manchester airport.
The DLH494 was due to come into Manchester yesterday (Friday) afternoon on a medical divert, but Manchester closed for a while as we had a runway closure due to an aircraft (Pegasus 737) aborting its take off for some reason.
This ended up going on to Reykjavik. Presume this is why it was late getting into Calgary.
Flying may not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price.
