UAC pres: Delivery of first SuperJet planes delayed till H1 2010
ZHUKOVSKY, Moscow Region, Aug 18 (PRIME-TASS) -- Delivery of the first Russian SuperJet 100 aircraft will be postponed until the first half of 2010, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) President Alexei Fyodorov told reporters Tuesday at the MAKS air show.
The first two SuperJet 100 planes were supposed to be delivered to Aeroflot Russian Airlines and Armenian airline Armavia in late 2009, according to earlier reports.
UAC controls aircraft maker Sukhoi, which is developing the SuperJet 100 aircraft.

Yet another aircraft program delayed...I guess this has become a habit. A pity, because the Superjet was doing relatively well compared to what other manufacturers have us used to.
Do we know the reason for this delay? Customer deferral, issues during the flight test program, or production problems?
In any case bad news because with the CSeries on the horizon, the earlier this plane comes to market the better. But more important, particularly in this case, is to come to market with a reliable aircraft.
