Please check your log, G-EUYI is still a big bag of bolts and glue liberally spread around various parts of Europe.

Latest A320 in service is G-EUYE delivered 05-06-2009.

If you can give me the flight no i'll check which a/c you did travel on

Regards

That would indeed have been G-EUYE as ACARS reports alpha numeric code BAW81BL used for this flight.

The following have been delivered in the last year and half (Since April 2008)- total ten aircraft

G-EUUV-G-EUUZ, G-EUYA- G-EUYE inc.

Plus two used examples G-TTOB and G-TTOE.

Two further new aircraft due in the autumn and one each month in 2010 through to June.
That completes current firmed orders I believe.

These aircraft are allowing the current B757 rotations to be covered with A32x models in 2010.
Maintaining frequency however reducing available capacity by around 12%.
Interestingly that reduction is in the FRONT cabin

Comparisons

Business Class
B757 - 35 A319 - 15 A320 - 15 A321 -15

Economy
B757 - 138 A319 - 114 A320 -137 A321 - 169

I don't get you here........surely Club Europe configurations are flexible??

Potential C class cabins on high business loads are much higher than the 35/15 you quote.

No the correct total max seating is B757 - 186, A319 - 132, A320 - 155, A321 - 193. Club is now in rows of 4 not 5 and the curtain can be moved back to pretty much weherever it is needed with a reduction in capacity of 2 per row changed.

Highly confidential ? The fact that BA has a long term order for A320 series planes, and is gradually replacing their 737's & 757's is readily available to the entire World. Their press releases regularly mention future deliveries of new aircraft, and it is quite clear what the registrations will be based on previous deliveries.

Im automatically assuming that the A318s will have the new interior.

Just one more question -- How many A319s are going to GATWICK?
Will you be highly likely to get a 'new' A32X if the A319s go to GATWICK?

BA published their future short haul fleet plans - retirements and new deliveries - at their Investor Day meeting on 9 March 2009. The data was on the BA Internet site for about a month but was then removed.

BA also published their long haul fleet plans out to 2015 at the same time. However both sets of plans in terms of retirements have since been amended. Some retirements have been brought forward because of the decline in passenger numbers. And deliveries of the 787 have gone back because of production problems.

It is quite usual for both the purchaser and supplier to announce approximate delivery dates when orders are announced. If one of them for some reason wants to keep the data confidential then no announcement about the order is made. But although sometimes announcements may be initially delayed it is very rare for such delays to be long.

It's Rockwell Collins Airshow 4200... If you do a google search for that you'll see some examples.
