As always this is a comparison versus what was selling last week against this week...NOT last year.

How to read:
3>2 NOV- means a reduction from 3 roundtrips to 2 starting in November and continuing forward.

These should both be 0>2, no?

Seeing this I would assume now that they may be all under 7H code, Era's. I have noticed that on ANC airport site that their flights were showing as Era and also on flightaware.com.

MSP-MIA 2>1 NOV-

This goes back to 2x daily on 19NOV09 and back to 3x daily around 17DEC09. Odd temporary reduction.

JFK-MIA 4>5 DEC-

Pretty impressive. DL went from one daily CR7 a few years ago, to 5 daily MD80s. DL will have more capacity on MIA-JFK than they do on FLL-JFK.

Good to see an increase here. Are they giving us back any 767s yet? I hope so.

Every time a new schedule adjustment occurs I see MSP getting cuts in routes and frequency, what gives? I thought DTW's economy was one of the worst in the country yet I never see any cuts from DTW.

In many respects, MSP and SLC serve the same purpose (i.e. east/west connector), therefore, IMHO DL is trying to adjust capacity so that both hubs can serve their purpose successfully. Regarding DTW, IMHO you're not seeing cuts because those are happening at CVG. Despite the local economy, DTW is still a strong connecting hub in a densely populated area of the country which I think is why you're not seeing as many cuts there.

The December OAG shows all these routes back up to previous frequencies, and MIA-MSP back to 3x daily.

I look at monthly total operations. I think because they only fly part of November it looked like 1 flight. The press release says 2 so I probably goofed.

I believe so.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in that, though. NW tends to "oversell" their schedules over 90 days out meaning they often make cuts in just the short term and gradually roll them forward. It is not unusual for NW to be overscheduled by 7% beyond 90 days.

I actually think it is a bait and switch policy that should be reviewed by DOT. It's been going on for at least 10 years. Summer to winter is usually when it is at it's most aggregious. It's akin to allowing you to put a product on layaway for Christmas when they know the product won't exist.

I would totally put stock on NW having three daily MIA-MSPs this winter like they do every winter. Not sure about other markets, as I'm not familiar with them.

Yeah, it's 2. But certain certain Thursday and Saturdays seem to be just 1, but I haven't figured out a pattern.

Hmm, maybe I wasn't that far off...
