I was watching the planes today at manchester airport and I saw a Ryanair Plane with the Livery "Bye Bye Skyeurope"
The Funny thing is that right behind it during the taxi onto the runway was a Sky Europe....
Anyone know what it's all about  Smile

Well I guess Sky Europe is on the way out and FR are gloating.

That;s shows how classless FR is. Ive never seen an airline publicly gloat over the bankruptcy of a competitor like that.

Ryanair have a number of those stickers on their aircraft, I think there's a "bye bye baby" as in Bmi Baby and plenty of anti fuel surcharge ones for Lufthansa and British Airways. The "Bye Bye Sky Europe" has been around a while, I suppose they are just counting down days until they really can say Bye Bye to Sky Europe.

How nice to gloat about an airline going under, causing people to loose jobs, passengers to be stranded etc.

Very childish, but hey, its FR.

The Lufthansa aircraft I think says ' bye bye Latehansa'. The Sky Europe sticker has been around for a few years now. Cant think of the reg at the mo though.

MOL does have it in for Lufthansa. Well, he did years ago, he seems to have gone a bit quiet on that front lately.

New zum Lufthansa Kerosinzunchlag (EI-DAD)
Bye bye SkyEurope (EI-DLF)
ZEGNAMY PLL LOT! (EI-DLG)
Bye bye Latehansa (EI-DLM)
Bye bye baby (EI-DLN)
Bye bye EasyJet (EI-DLO)

The Say no to BA fuel levy (EI-CTB) is out of service now.

I don't think I've seen that one in a while. I took this photo earlier in the year which has something about their fuel surcharges.

I've no hesitation in agreeing with you on that, and am not pleased about it at all.
However, to be equally fair, there are currently a few here on a.net saying exactly the same thing in hoping for the demise of FR......and clearly posting they will be happy to see thousands of jobs going if that's what's necessary.
It's completely childish, but you can't criticise/condemn one without the other also.

You have a point, however, its personal opinion on here, this is a company advertising their opinion on the side of a plane.

I am usually the Ryanair apologist on threads that give out about them... not on this one though...

I cannot understand why FR management often goes out of its way to be pro-actively and gratuitiously insulting to certain groups of people where there is no upside. While I don't agree with it when it there is an upside, at least there is a rationale, but this is just stupid, crass, childish, and as Lightsaber says, classless.

In addition to that there was also

EI-CSH "Auf Wiedersehen Lufthansa" which is now flying with Canjet
EI-CSZ as OA260 mentioned was "Arrivederci Alitalia"which has also left the fleet

And I wouldn't be surprise if there are others

I think the whole campaign is very childish and unprofessional (pretty much sums up FR nicely as a whole) but in there defence if the "Bye Bye Skyeurope" has been around for a few years when Skyeurope was in a lot better shape financially then it's wasn't as if FR knew they were in trouble and were dancing on there grave so to speak.

I think its quite funny actually. business is cut throat, you are competing with them for profits, poking fun at them, or using it as a news story and making a joke is not classless. What is classless is business in general. Get used to it. Grow a spine or get employed by a school so you never have to go in the real world

Oddly enough, i saw this whilst being pushed back in a BMI Baby aircraft at EMA. Its a shame but FR have been saying bye bye to several others recently too, many of which have been of their own creation including the widely covered desistance at MAN.

I seem to think that its not a new way in this industry to show your companies thoughts though, VS used to have 'NO WAY BA - AA' or something appertaining to that on their 747's.

Maybe it's nicer when MAN a/p places a large billboard on the roof of the terminal which says "Bye Bye Ryanair"...

I don't see what growing a spine - or even a pair - has to do with it. Tacky is tacky.

A lot of the Ryanair stuff is funny as well as tacky. This is just tacky.

It is one thing to express an opinion here on a.net. That is what it is for. It quite another thing to do it publicly as an ad on your aircraft.

It's back on a couple of their planes (744 and A346), as part of their "monster monopoly" campaign against oneworld trans-Atlantic ATI... saw a "NOWAYBA/AA" A346 at ORD a couple of days ago while waiting for my Eagle flight to FWA, in fact. And a pilot friend of mine says that the titles are twice as big this time as they were the last.... maybe SRB has reached his boiling point?

Well, one can argue if it is a professional thing of FR to do this stuff in general and I have to say, that if the really would have applied these stickers it would be really tasteless, as people will loose their jobs and all the things which come with it. However we have to acknowledge that:

Quoting Vhqpa (Reply 15):

... if they should get rid of this sticker right now is another story.

In general, not that I'm a fan of this kind of ads, I find it okay when FR put's stickers like (Good by Lufthansa" or similar on their jets. Its just how they (quite sucessfully) operate.

Just my two Euro-cents.
