No, they're condemned to wander around the Earth, from one country to another, never getting a good night's sleep, until they will finally find a home and a resting place in the Arizona desert.

I was in ZRH on August 14th and 16th and I saw a VN A332 and an LX A332 without engines standing around. I couldn't see their regs. Could that have been:

Does anybody know about it? Are there any delays with the plane going to VN?

I was in Zurich over the past few days and took a ramp tour. Beside the maintence hangers theres a Vietnam A330 minus the number one engine still wearing the Swiss Reg HB-IQG but in Vietnam Colours.  Smile

HB-IQG already is operating for Vietnam Airlines as VN-A375. The aircraft in ZRH that you would have seen in ZRH some days ago is HB-IQP (supposed to become VN-A373).

I saw two, one in VN colors, one in LX colors without the engines. Besides, there was an SK A343 there both days, any idea what that one could be doing there?

Are you sure? I have a crap picture of the Vietnam A330 currently sitting in Zurich at the moment taken through the tour bus window (on 22/08/09) and I'm pretty sure I can make out the registration as HB-IQG. Theres also the number 371 on the front nose wheel gear doors.

CH-Aviation have been saying for a while that Aeroflot are taking most of the remaining LX A332s:

VN-A375 has been flying around Asia since early July and the only other ex-Swiss A330-200 that has been seen in Zurich in Vietnam Airlines colours was HB-IQP. So unless somehow we all messed up the identity of VN-A375 and it is not ex-HB-IQG, then I would be pretty sure it has left and gone to Vietnam Airlines in early July. There are no other ex-Swiss A330-200 that are currently out of service other than HB-IQK that is parked in Zurich, but still in Swiss colours as far as I know.

VN-A375 is ex HB-IQP, meaning the VN A330 still in Zurich is indeed HB-IQG  Wink
