 arrow  15 Brilliant, Bad and Downright Strange Plans to Save Airlines

1. Strong head winds and aerodynamic drag burn unnecessary fuel.
2. Shrinking customer bases.
3. Limited seating on planes.
4. Hangar repairs take too long.
5. Heavy people take up too much space on already-cramped airline seats.
6. Intersecting runways limit the number of planes that are able to depart and land.
7. More airlines are competing for fewer customers.
8. Customers expect in-flight entertainment for free and no one wants to pay for headphones.



9. Dwindling revenue among airlines.
10. Fuel is too expensive.
11. First class isn't worth the extra money.
12. Too much unused space inside planes.
13. Too many flights are needed to haul passengers, resulting in congested airports and money-wasting holding patterns.
14. Passengers can't use cellphones while in flight.
15. Inefficient, fuel-eating jet engines.
