As usual these compare against what was selling last week and not last year.

How to read:
ATL-TRI 8>7 NOV Means that the market was reduced by one roundtrip 8 to 7 for November.
ATL-TRI 9>8 DEC- Means the market was cut by 1 roundtrip from 9 to 8 for December onward.

Plz excuse any typos it is a lot to type!

I don't remember this being discussed. So Alaska is pulling out of Prescot and Flagstaff altogether? is this seasonal?

So that's what they are going to do with the plane from the (I assume still canx'd) ASE service.

That's a lot of reductions for AS. Are the aircraft just going to be sitting there now? Or perhaps these reductions coincide with the new cities/routes that AS is starting throughout the next couple of months.

Probably a combo of three things with my perceived weights appended:

1. Reduction due to drop in demand stemming from economy. (50%)
2. Redeployment of assets to new cities and routes, AUS, ATL, IAH. (40%)
3. Redeployment of assets to future routes/cities to be announced at a later date. (10%)

Is Northern Arizona flying going to cease on QX Enilria or do you sense a GDS blip? Can you confirm?

Happy flying!  Smile

Interesting. Usual ramp up I suppose. I thought MLB use to get -170s or am I confusing them with SRQ? Schedule shows all CR2s with one MD88 during the evening. Pretty big jump in equipment.

Indeed a very competitive segment, but let's not forget that PDX lacks service to pretty much everything East of the Mississippi other than Chicago, New York, and Atlanta. DEN probably handles quite a few ppl headed to, say, New Orleans, Orlando, Miami, Charlotte, etc.

A lot are seasonal, so they can't really add anything that will last for very long with the airplanes. It looks like parking airplanes or shortening the airplane work day to me.

Quoting SurfandSnow (Reply 6):

I think so, but they weren't selling it for the upcoming season until this week. Perhaps it was on the bubble or they were shaking town the TEX hotels for money.

Quoting SurfandSnow (Reply 6):

Yes, but that's probably why AS is down to one trip. Everybody else can connect beyond DEN to those markets, while AS is connecting on the PDX side to the West. I would not be surprised to see AS vacate this market. 4 carriers is ludicrous.

I think I had seen the Flagstaff cut somewhere else when they told the city about it recently. I personally had not seen Prescott. Is that the only service to Prescott or do they have PHX service?

This confirms it from another schedule tracker website who posted the details a few minutes ago:

LAN resume Santiago de Chile - LA nonstop from Dec 09

As per GDS timetable display on 28AUG09, LANChile is resuming 3 weekly Santiago de Chile - Los Angeles nonstop service from 13DEC09. This complements existing Daily service via Lima.

Schedule as follows:

PRC will be a continuation on the FLG flight that will go to one daily. On the return it will be FLG-PRC-LAX

I believe this is a cut to free up aircraft for the increased MMH flying the QX is doing this winter.

DELTA starting 18DEC09 will launch New York JFK - Freeport service. Service operates 4 times a week, but reduce to 2 weekly between 07JAN10 and 14FEB10

but that is a good assumption.

The local traffic on both EUG-MFR and EUG-RDM is likely negligible, so I bet it's just a change in where the EUG-LAX traffic has to stop (and an added PDX-RDM 1-stop flight at the expense of PDX-MFR).

The airport at Telluride has been closed since April, meaning all flights have been cancelled. It's scheduled to reopen in the first half of November, meaning all flights into TEX are technically "NEW".

ATL-DSM 3>2 NOV-

with the exception of markets where they compete with Airtran like MLI and BMI (and even BMI is losing a flight) it seems like DL keeps weakening service to its largest hub in this part of the country. PIA, CID and MSN are being or already have been cut out of the ATL system. DSM has had I think 3-4 daily flights to ATL over the years and now going down to two. Makes me wonder how long FSD-ATL will be around. It kind of surprises me though that they can't keep ATL around as ATL provides somewhat of a "counter-balance" to their northern tier hubs of MSP and DTW. Kind of like AA is successful with balancing out flights between DFW (south) and ORD (north). I thought we would see DL do more of this between ATL and DTW/MSP but I guess not.

I'm not surprised as there are an awful lot of seats in that market. This might also lay to rest the rumor I read on here a while back that at least one of the ATL-BMI flights was going to a CR9.

I don't know what to make of the DTW cut though. Probably just some right sizing as the merger progresses.
