Quoting JRadier (Reply 1): a lot less appealing in winter
Unless you like to ski! But even then, Whistler is MUCH warmer and more enjoyable than Lake Louise or any of the other resorts around Calgary.
Flying in the middle seat of coach is much better than not flying at all!

Quoting JRadier (Reply 1): It doesn't strike me as odd. Calgary is a beautiful tourist destination in summer, but a lot less appealing in winter
One problem with only 4 flights a week during the winter is that winter is the busiest period for business travel, but those high-yield passengers prefer carriers with daily or close to daily frequency to provide more flexibility if their plans change. During the time of year when the highest-yield passengers are travelling, KL becomes a less attractive option compared to AC to LHR/FRA and LH to FRA (I think those are all daily services through the winter), or BA to LHR at 6 a week. With only 4 a week, there's too much risk that if you want to change your travel dates by a day or two, KL won't have a flight that day.
