DL/NW will be making the following network changes in the fall schedule:
ATL-AMS changes to a DL 767 on Oct 25
ATL-FRA will operate with a NW A330-200 on Nov 1
JFK-AMS will be suspended on Nov 9 - KLM will operate their flights in this market.
JFK-LYS will be suspended on Nov 3
JFK-MAN will be suspended on Jan 7 - MAN will continue to be served from ATL.
There may be others, but that's all I know of for now.

My first thought when i saw the new domestic Biz Elite flying was that it would be done with the transatlantic 757s so these changes pretty much confirm that

Correct. Goes to a 767-400 in Sept. and later changes to a 767-300ER for the winter.
I believe that change had already been announced, not sure. Also, ATL-LGW is changing back to a 767-300 for the fall and winter.

Thats interesting because I checked EWR-AMS on DL past NOV 9 and the flights will be operated by a DL 763ER and not KLM. You would figure DL would keep their JFK hub flights on their own metal and send KLM over to the non-hub, EWR.

That isn't what they do with JFK-CDG where all the service is on AF.

Thats true I forgot about that. Although up to a certain point in the past year DL operated this flight on their own metal too.

Rumor in DFW is that sometime next year Delta will replace KLM here in DFW to AMS with a B767-400. This would be really cool if true!

Apart from PIA operating one way, doesnt this mean there is longer any MAN-JFK service? And from CO/DL/BA/PIA both ways serving MAN-NYC to just CO and PIA one way? How times change

I don't think it was intended to be seasonal, so not a good sign. If they definitely axe this flight, it will be the 2nd failure of this route. Very strange that it could even not sustain a daily 757 or a 4- to 5-times weekly.

Why would that be cool? KLM has much better service than DL.

FWIW, JFK-AMS has bounced back and forth between KL and NW metal several times in the past. Same story with EWR. Sometimes a DC10 on NW, sometimes a 767 with KL. Lately it's been a NW A330, and (IIRC) is now a DL 767.

Seems a bit odd, considering the route is currently operated by a 764ER. Perhaps it is due to cargo, and/or maybe premium J traffic is down (the 764ER has 42 J seats while the A332 has 32).

Looking at nwa.com I can see that DTW-FRA and one of the three DTW-AMS will go to an A330-200 in November. So that would help to explain the ATL-FRA flight. I have heard that DTW-FRA has suffered from the auto industry declines. Remember that only 2 summers ago a 2nd daily 757 was added to DTW-FRA, but during this spring it was operating only 5x or 6x A333. So now it would seem that the decline even warrants the downgauge to an A332 from the A333.
