I saw a Southwest Airlines 737-300 in the new blue colors this morning about 8:20 a.m. E.D.T. on approach from the west to land on runway 9L at Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I didn't know any "classics" had been painted yet! Is this the first one? By the way, I see a lot of 737-7H4's of WN come in here to FLL, but this is the first -300 (don't know if it was a -3H4) in the new colors. Had to rub my eyes!!

They still are! In my opinon they are worse now, all they did was change the yellow to blue.

They are beginning to paint the -300's on an as needed basis. They will do the interiors as needed also. It should take about 10 years...that's what Herb says anyway.

New livery is better than the old one, but they can sure work on it.
Money does not bring you happiness. But it's better to cry in your own private limo than on a cold bus stop.

YUCK!! I love the old livery. This one has no taste in my opinion!!
I actually like the old gold-colored plane. After all, it does give a Southwestern-desert look, or at lest I think so. But this blue is ugly. Perhaps if it was metal-flake blue and a darker, glosser red.
The red and blue shades they got don't go together!

I think both liveries are terrible. A friend of mine at work when they saw it a few weeks back said they should paint the nose red, then it would look like a clown.

I remember a few months ago when WN first introduced their new livery and the riot it caused on this message board.
I hated it, and still do.
The problem is that the color clash is just flat out annoying. At least with the original WN livery the colors are well-coordinated.

I talked to a SWA pilot and he referred to the paint conversion as "from Corndog to Popsicle".
