as far as I know there is a curfew at TXL from 23:00 to 06:00. My granny lives near the airport and she insists that there is regulary "quite a loud airplane" at night. Does anyone know what for a flight this is? I wasn't aware that there are any freight operation at TXL either.
Thanks for enlighten me!

My cousin lives quite near by aswell and Ive stayed there twice, of course upon hearing an aeroplane I always jump up to see if I can see what it is! Ive seen planes landing between these hours, I suppose like any airport curfew, it can be flexible.

Curfew does usually not count if it's a emergency flight or some delay due to an 'act of God' etc. Also, departures can usually be made out of the curfew for delayed arrivals. They can depart again to their home country.

That could have been mail flights. They were exempt from the night curfew. However, Deutsche Post has cancelled all mail charter contracts with LH and Air Berlin, overnight mail is 100% moved over the road now.
