About an hour ago I happened to turn around and see an Air China 747 taxiing off of runway 8. Apparently it came in from NAS:

Anyone know what it's doing here? Reg is B-2447.

I saw about 12 15 passenger limo-type vans, to many to count black SUV's and an incredible number of Phoenix Cops escorting them through a gate on the north east side of the airport around 8-26.

WN676 - Are you an international Mainline employee?

An even better question: What's he doing in NAS?

If you research the aircraft's movements on flightaware, you can see that it arrived in Nassau from Havana. They probably did not want to arrive in the USA directly from Cuba. Also of interest is the fact that this B747 flew from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon airport, spent a few hours on the ground (probably to allow somebody important to see the Grand Canyon) and then returned to PHX.

Are the environmental zealouts up in arms over this?

Why? A head of state can't fly around him and his entourage once in a blue moon? Bigger fish to fry comes into my mind

First Solar, based in Arizona, is building a very large solar power plant in China. Apparently that's why Wu Banggao was in town. He's on a tour of a few countries which included Cuba and The Bahamas before coming to the U.S.

I caught the airplane departing to ADW this morning:
