Anyone know the story on these 3 Bombardier Dash 8's Sitting near General Aviation at the Great Falls Airport? they are painted all white, and have some striping near the very botom of the fuselage. There could have been 4 of them there, but I for sure noticed three, and it was a little difficult to look out the window of a CRJ200---kinda bent down with a kinked back trying to see them.

Not sure, but it sounds like they're ex-QX aircraft to me. Perhaps awaiting resale?

Piedmont (US Airways Express) has retired a few more DHC-8-100's recently. Could be these. In the past the ex-Piedmont planes made their way up to Calgary.

For a time, many (if not all) of the retired Horizon DHC-8-100's were parked at the Bombardier facility in West Virginia. Not sure if that's where the Q200's went as well. I know at least one Q200 is still parked in PDX in all-white outside the QX hangar.

Bingo. There are unfortunately more to come... A total of 11 are leaving the fleet. Four left in early summer, the other 7 are out starting this month I think. Furloughs and downgrades have already been "awarded", with another round to come.

Calgary based Avmax has a large facility in Great Falls. They tend to have a ton of Dash 8's passing through their facilities.

Correct.

Currently, there's about 3 white Dash 8s, a couple ex-Alma CRJ-200s and an ex-United Express BAe-146.

Dash 8s are the most common; past aircraft have included a good chunk of the Caribbean Sun/Star fleet, but the Arik CRJ-200s got their start in Great Falls.

I noticed those there too. they had a grey or somewhat silver fuselage, and something of a red logo on the tail.

When I was last up in YYC over two years ago, there were upwards of 10 Air Wisconsin BAe-146's parked in the middle of the airfield. There were also several Atlantic Coast J41's (UA Express) and a few Trans States J41's (TW Express).

...don't know if NWA was the inspiration?

The BAe 146's are still midfield, but I was under the impression they were ex-AC Jazz/Air BC?
They are joined by some CRJ's and at least one F28, with some turboprops, not sure if J41's...?

There are always Dash 8's around YYC in various paintschemes. The latest I saw was an ex-U.S. Airways regional with Regional 1 tail logo and titles.
