Allegiant Announces BGR To PIE

Allegiant announced new service between Bangor, ME and St. Petersburg this morning.

Flights start November 20 and will operate Monday/Friday.

dep PIE 1:55pm arr BGR 5:20pm
dep BGR 6:00pm arr PIE 9:40pm

While other airlines contract, G4 expands.

Interesting flight though in that it is quite long (by Allegiant's standards), about 1400 miles, considering their average stage length is something like 700 miles.

Although since the price of oil is down considerably, they can worry a little less about stage length.

Lets hope this route works out for them.

Great news. Really looking forward to it as I used to live in Mid-Coast Maine and BGR is much more convenient than Portland --- and now to have a nonstop is even better.

Curious though as to if and when G4 may start YNG-PIE service. As I understand, their YNG-SFB service has been successful and has been going for several years now (G4 wouldn't stay if it wasn't). I'd really like to see that route. Wonder what might be holding them back.
