This article has known inaccuracies in it (quoting the fleet at 38 planes, for example), but here are some other statements:
Quote:
Virgin America Inc. is looking to add up to 10 more aircraft next year in a sign that the loss-making carrier's business model may be gaining traction.
Quote:
The airline has run up substantial losses since launching a low-cost, high service model from its San Francisco base in 2007, but it turned profitable during the summer and is targeting a full-year operating surplus in 2010.

However, spokeswoman Abby Lunardini confirmed industry speculation that it was back in the market to boost capacity, despite widespread uncertainty about the strength of any recovery in demand and pricing power. "We're out in the market actively pursuing new aircraft for next year - perhaps as many as 10 additional aircraft," she said.

That's good to hear especially in the ever competitive US market.
Hope to try them out one day.

I'm quite sure that my $99 dollars JFK-SFO didn't actually help all that much. I did however watch a movie on board so there's another $7.

With plans for 10 new planes, is VX the mystery acquirer of the ex-DL ORD gates after all? They wanted to be in Chicago "in a big way", after all...

AA has is acquiring those gates. Hence the nearly 60 daily departures being added this summer.

Will there also be a third Admirals Club where the CRC/SkyClub is now, as rumored?

Looking at the latest Airbus spreadsheet, they have 4 A320s yet to be delviered so i wonder if they're looking at 6 additional birds (to make 10) or 10 more and I wonder if they're talking about leasing or buying as there's a few complete A320s waiting for a buyer at TLS (the Air Comet ones and I wonder if IB would let them purchase their undelivered ones?)

It would be good news for VX if true and I am eager to see the numbers. However, it is hard to make any judgment off of only a statement from an article.
The WSJ has had articles in the past making statements about VX's ownership which has led to airlines like AS questioning their actual ownership. Most people on this board, and VX included, want to throw that petition out because it is based only on media reports.
So I would hold the same judgment here until we see actual numbers. I would think that the article would have made a bigger deal about that profitable summer considering it would be their first profitable quarter in existence right? But the article is reporting fleet expansion, so I guess they are more focused on that. Just an observation.
