Startting November 1, Delta will operate a Boeing 777 from DTW to ATL twice a week: Friday and Sunday

Delta 1443 Detroit (DTW) 1:30pm Atlanta (ATL) 3:30pm Boeing 777-200LR

Does anyone know where this aircraft originates? I assume its a positioning flight to ATL. It would be nice to see more of these at DTW

Any foreseen DL equiupment swaps on INTL routes out of Detroit?

Thank you

I think this will come from PVG-DTW.

The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud...

Routing is to get the plane to DTW for the PVG flight, which is becoming a 777 this fall. It's to get the plane back to ATL to rotate into the system as well as mx.

I assume this will be an ER? Are there any other routes that will be getting the LR when the other two come on line?

Yea, it will be on an ER, unfortunately.

Allegedly JFK-NRT will see LR's this winter. Obviously not a route that requires such range but I think it's part of the rotation pattern for the TLV birds.

I think it will be an LR. I'm flying this route in mid-November, and my itinerary says "777-200LR" on Delta.com. I'm excited as this will be my first time flying on a the 777. (And I then get the 777-200LR on LAX-ATL in January, this time in Biz-Elite  biggrin  )

Looks like it's Thursdays and Friday the other direction (ATL-DTW).

Delta 1442 Atlanta (ATL) 10:20 am Detroit (DTW) 12:25 pm Boeing 777-200

The schedules I see show the first trip each way (ATL-DTW Thursday, DTW-ATL Friday) on the 777-200ER and second trip each way (ATL-DTW Friday, DTW-ATL Sunday) on the 777-200LR. The seat maps for the flights on delta.com seem to reflect this as well, so all of the above is the correct answer.
