According to justplanes.com, the last Iberia MD-87 has left Miami. The two remaining MD87s have now been replaced by newer A319s. Iberia's Miami-based A319 fleet flies 47 flights a week to seven desitnations in Mexico and Central America. Farwell IB MD87s! MIA will miss you!
According to justplanes, IB has 4 Miami-based A319s that will now handle all 47 flights. I'm no expert, but doesn't that seem like too little planes for too many flights? Or is that IB has replaced the four REMAINING MD87s (because there have been some A319s based in MIA for a short while)?

I'm wondering why IB doesn't cooperate with AA on short haul flights out of MIA as both are oneworld members. IB could save lots of money by keeping their A319s at home in Spain. And AA has excellent connections to Latin America.
