Mexican low cost carrier Volaris has applied to the DOT for authorization to commence Los Angeles service from Morelia and Zacatecas. Carrier proposes to commence the new routes on November 23rd.
These two destinations would add to the carrier current Guadalajara and Toluca services from LAX.

Wow! I hope this works out for them. They obviously are doing pretty well with their TLC & GDL flights (are both twice daily?).

It sounds like they are doing great! Good for them. I had some friends who flew LAX-GDL with them as the traditional carriers had very high prices that it didn't make sense to fly Y but rather J. They conveyed that Volaris did a nice job all the way around. They didn't mind having to pay for snacks though they said it would've been nice if they offered a meal for sale on the 3 hour trip.
Do they utliize T2 @ LAX?
Where can we expect to see Volaris next? Since they are going to partner up with WN, should we expect to see LAS, PHX, MDW?

Quoting Captaink (Reply 5): Why doesn't AGU get some service it is bigger than Morelia or Zacatecas
I think it has to do with Y4 cleverly looking at the states where many Angeleno Mexicans come from.
I have tons of acquaintances from Zacatecas for instance. To me it seems after Jalisco, Zacatecas and Michoacan states are right on top for folks in LA.
Even MX does not serve LAX-AGU while AM discontinued its 3x weekly flight in August.

Hmmm, do they? I flew MID-TLC with Volaris this summer (1:45 hr. flight) and there were complimentary chips and drinks (juice, pop or beer). Then again, chips would not be sufficient for a 3 hr. plus flight.

Everybody in this town seems to be from Jalisco! But in all fairness, this must mean Volaris' new flights to LAX (and international expansion overall) are doing well, right?
Flying in the middle seat of coach is much better than not flying at all!

I am happy to see Volaris expanding their LAX service. With the large Mexican population in LA, point to point flying to smaller cities is a good plan other than the usual Guadalajara y Mexico City connecting service. They are a great company. I recently flew from Tijuana to Hermosillo. Upon boarding I noticed a sign on the plane indicating they just won a ¨Best Company to Work For¨award. We arrived 20 minutes early on one flight. Inflight service was great: free headsets, a snack, beverage service and I had a free Tequila on the return trip. They will be giving Mexicana and AreoMexico good competition. The only negative is no Frequent Flyer Program or alliance. I would have loved to received WN points form my flight.

Hopefully, that will come when their marketing agreement with WN comes into effect this Spring.

On your flight, did they offer a hot or cold meal? I will check back with my friends who took it. Do they even offer catering on their longer flights?

Times seems a bit ood; even if they base the aircraft at LAX, the aircraft sits here from 1755 to 0910 the next morning.......Perhaps the ZCL flight will tie in to this ?

Well the schedules mesh with other flights such as GDL (which will be increasing to 4x for the holidays). Who knows TLC might be getting added frequency or schedule changes also.
