I have sad news today. The AirLib DC-10-30, N956PT, which was Finnair's first DC-10 and first jumbojet has been scrapped. The beautiful DC-10 is now sadly just a twisted heap of metal with only the center fuel take and stubs of the wing recognizable as a DC-10. LHA has been at OPF since 2004 and now at 34 years old she is gone. I will try to get a piece of her soon.

Sad indeed. Some of my earliest memories of flying are from this bird. As a child I was a UNMR on this very plane. I remember they let us up into the flight deck! I also got bumped up to first class when traveling by myself as a kid. I needed to use the lavs and the economy ones were all full. The attendant saw this and brought me to the first class section, and let me stay there! Not that I needed all that space as a kid!
I had no idea she was at OPF. How can one get a piece of the plane? Will they let you just walk up at take something?

I think this thread is not about informing a DC10 frame in general being scrapped but about the fact that the very first AY DC10 frame is now gone. For AY nutters like me, it is indeed a lot sadder than hearing about L1011 being scrapped, though that's sad as well!
