There has been information out that SAS was to lease in one of BMI´s new A330-200 from the beginning of May.The BMI A330-200 was intended be used on one of the two daily B767-300 services between CPH and EWR so that the B767-300 was available for the IAD route. However it´s been a while since this BMI-lease was in the news and it seems that BMI needs it´s A330-200s for its new schedules from MAN to IAD and ORD! Does anyone know if SAS or BMI changed plans regarding the lease and what SAS intends to do to have an aircraft available for the IAD route?

SAS´ own A330´s (A330-300) will arrive next summer (2002) and will be powered by RR Trent 772 engines and operate in a three-class Business, Economy Plus and Economy configuration. The A340´s are due late this summer.

The bmi A330 going on lease to Scando is at Toulouse at the moment, delivery to bmi in about a week and in service with Scando from 12th May.
bmi have three A330s this year - the first has been delivered to bmi for MAN-IAD, the second is going on lease to Scando and is in "washing line" colours, and the third is for bmi for MAN-ORD which starts in early June.
