Watching the arrivals tonight I noticed that a couple of AC flights are being divereted to other places before coming to YYC. AC 8232 YXY-YYC is heading to YQL while AC 220 landed at YEG before heading south. What's the reason behind those flights diverting? Seems odd for AC 8232 to head to YQL than backtrack to YYC...

Looks like t-storms passed thru YYC. Obviously, that's the reason. Perhaps someone from YYC can provide more details.

Well the winds were very strong here today, wind warnings all over the place but didn't see any T-storms. Wouldn't surprise me if we see snow once again...

Sounds like a rough night for those flying to YYC especially for those in the holding delays

The winds here last night were incredible, multiple trees, fences, garden furniture, neon signs, trampolines all blown over. It does not surprise me, that there were diversions. Heaven knows how ANY aircraft could land in wind like that, although I believe some did!

I was working during the storms. The takeoffs on 34 during the wing storms were unreal. The UPS A300 was airborne by the 25/07 intersection. Awesome to see!!

I'm sorry Hawaiian 763, but you stand to be corrected. There were numerous thunderstorms in the City limits. Not to insult your intelligence, but the entire Southwest/Southeast saw major thunderstorms for around 30min.

Well I work in the Southeast and believe me I didn't see or hear any thunderstorms. The only thing I saw was heavy wind and snow
