Here is a (hopefully) full list of the service increases and other changes that AA is making in Chicago for summer 2010. This list shows the summer 2010 schedule compared with the winter 09/10 schedule – NOT year-over-year changes.

Oh, so AA has completely pulled out of ORD-MEX? I suppose MX funnels a lot of passengers to AA's ORD flights but I find it interesting that AA won't use its metal to MEX at all anymore.

Looks like the changes are being loaded into AA.com as I speak.
As for FWA-ORD, it will now be an ERD and not an ER4 on all flights, and the currently-missing 3rd Saturday frequency will be restored. At the same time, AmericanConnection/RP and not Eagle will operate FWA-ORD as of the new Spring 2010 schedule. FWA-DFW remains the same for now... 2x daily Eagle ER4s (surprised it didn't go up to 3x daily). Still, with FWA-ORD switching, will the Eagle ticket counter here at FWA need new signs adding AmericanConnection to American Eagle?

Yes, unfortunately AA no longer flies ORD-MEX at all. They just code-share with MX.

I don't think we'll see any more M80s on this route come next summer. I think there are a few other westcoast routes that will see the 73H and M80 disappear as they receive more a/c from Boeing.

They haven't been very active in this market for quite sometime, Eddie. I feel they are doing what DL/AM have been doing with certain markets, in this case MX flies the route and AA codeshares plus MX offers a much better inflight product than AA does.

Glad to see AA adding service at ORD. I would like to see AA become more aggressive and start adding more international service from ORD though.

Too bad there is no mainline to BDL anymore. Good news they added some mainline to YYZ.
I thought that with the switch in STL to RJs, ORD would get more mainline flights.
Does this schedule account for new 738 deliveries?

No. It doesn't as the LAX route displayed above is the same as what they will be flying in late December.

I'm really surprised at the number of routes, such as ATL, DEN, IAH, and PHL, that are losing some or all mainline flights.
Is Air Tran doing so well on MDW-ATL that AA feels it can't fill mainline jets profitably?
And why is AA dropping the MD-80s on ORD-SLC. The one advantage that AA had on UA was that it was flying mainline, while UA was flying CRJs. That is a long miserable flight in a CRJ.
What this says to me is that AA badly needs some new planes in the range of 90 seats to 120 seats, and that APA needs to be reasonable in its contract demands, if it wants planes in that size to be flown by mainline pilots, rather than Eagle pilots.

Okay, thanks a lot guys. I suppose MX does have better service than AA. I wonder how many of MX passengers on the ORD-MEX flights actually bought their tickets on AA.com.

Well, not exactly. Late December has only 9x daily. The schedule above shows 10x daily to refect an additional flight being added for summer. But you are right that there won't likely be any M80's on the route for summer. The last M80 flight on ORD-LAX is currently scheduled for January 5th.

It’s not worth starting a new thread, but DFW will get increases of one daily mainline flight to each of -: LHR, MTY, ANC, BOS, COS, CMH, DTW, LAX, ORF, ONT, PIT, PDX, RNO, STL, DCA and YVR. Two daily flights will be added to DFW-SEA and three daily flights will be added to DFW-ORD. DFW-SAL begins with 5 weekly flights. Also, mainline flights return to Little Rock with 4x daily M80, alongside Eagle.
Winter peak markets ACA, PBI, PVR, RSW, FLL, EGE, GUC, HDN, PSP and PHX all lose one daily flight from DFW, as always happens in the summer.

Do you know if it is an MD-82 or an MD-83? Still, I am a little dissapointed that AA refuses to send the 738 to ABQ despite the fact that it would be better suited for the ABQ-ORD route during the hot-and-high summer months.
DL mostly uses the 752 on the ABQ-ATL route during the summer months.

Absolutely shocking. ATL, DTW, IAH - some of America's largest cities and hubs - all Eagle. EWR, YYZ, PHL, even DCA are now well on their way to being all Eagle as well. And here I thought we might see cities like IND and OMA get a mainline flight or 2 back with the supposed AA buildup. Before we know it the only domestic mainline flights from ORD will be to DFW, MIA, and the West Coast
Flying in the middle seat of coach is much better than not flying at all!
