I have heard that up to seven CO aircraft, one of each model type, are to be painted in the Star Alliance livery. While I don't know this as fact, I suspect the first will be Ship 120/N14120 which is currently in a paint shop out in west Texas.
The paint work shows scheduled to be completed on the 24th, and then 'HOLD' at the contractor's facility. ... CO joins *A on the 27th.
I could be wrong ....  crackup   crossfingers

This one? It would be cool to see *Alliance with a wingletted 757! Sounds like a pretty good guess!

Not counting the little logo by the doors, were there any CO aircraft in the full Sky Team livery? Nothing showed up in photo search.

I love long German words like 'Freundschaftsbezeigungen'.

No, the Sky Team liveries didn't start showing up until this past spring, which was well after CO had announced their intentions to leave for Star Alliance.

I just wish the star on the tail covered the entire tail instead of just centered and small.. it would look so good if it was like BMI does with the UK flag on their aircraft...

I would not be surprised that as of the 25th the skyteam logo is removed from any/all CO material and on plane announcements make no mention of skyteam and that the 27th (especially at the hubs) there will be *A branding.

Always wonderers if this "last and final boarding call" is in fact THE last and final boarding call.

No suprise at all then.. As of the close of busness on the 24th ALL SkyTeam matter is to be gone from public view, and any Star Alliance reference is NOT to appear before the 27th.
So Ship 120 will be kept out of sight for a few days then most likely fly in the night before. .. Or .. more dramaticly... fly in on the day to a water canon salute..  eyepopping

They would be in breach of their Skyteam contract - they are a member until Oct 24th and have an obligation to promote the alliance until then.

What if a Flying Blue member (like me) or a Sky Miles member flies CO on the 25th and the 26th of October, does he or she get miles on Air France/KLM or Delta, whichever he or she is a member of? I think that the answer is yes, as long as the flight is booked on the 24th or before.
I also think that he or she can get miles on Air France/KLM or Delta even if he or she flies CO on the 27th of October or later, as long as he or she books his or her trip no later than the 24th.
The point is, as of the 25th of October 2009, if you book a flight on Continental you won't get miles on Air France/KLM or Delta, or any Sky Team airline.
I don't know if Mileage Plus or Miles and More members can already book flights on Continental.

After October 24th, No.

It is not booking dates that matter. It's travel dates.

After the full flying program on 24 October is completed, mileage accumulation will no longer be permitted by members of any SkyTeam FFPs.

Continental has explained that they will begin permitting mileage accumulation for Star flights as of the commencement of the flight program on 25 October, and each day thereafter. Membership takes full effect officially on 27 October.

Quoting American 767 (Reply 16):

Mileage Plus and Miles & More members can book revenue tickets at anytime.

Redemption bookings will only be available for Star FFP members as of 27 October.

I have noticed the Skyteam stickers are already being removed from our ERJs. Over the past 3 days I have had customers who are part of *A make comments, being excited that CO is joining. On the flip side, quite a few Skyteam, namely DL/NW customers are not the least bit happy about the swap. Especially out of CRP where DLconnection pulled out in 08. We got all those customers, now they are high and dry out of here. Also we have a large AF/KL clientele here. I am curious as to how they will be, and how many LH customers are we likely to see here. Guess I better brush up on my german.

Star Alliance has the ugliest of the three alliance schemes. Although it is a lot better now then back at the beginning when they had little snippets of other partner airline colorschemes on the sides.

UA needs to do some of their narrowbodies in the Star Alliance livery.

Quoting ERJ170 (Reply 8):

When it comes to all the Alliances; Star, Skyteam, One World, they are all pretty much the same. Solid color, Alliance logo, and Airline name. To say one is better than the other I wouldn't agree. I know some of you won't agree but look at them

Star Alliance needs to spruce it up a little. Something like leaving each airlines tail how it is, but making it a watermark and putting the Star Alliance symbol over that. Like how BMIs Union Jack is watermarked on the tail, then put the "Star Circle" on top of that.

Wish I knew how to do graphics cause I'd show it on here.  scratchchin  lol Can draw it though!  biggrin

25 PWMRamper : I can't wait to see a Colgan Q400 is *A livery! I absolutely love the Q400.
26 CALTECH : Acft # 728 is in Amarillo, Texas for a paint job. Heard Acft # 859 is waiting for a Star Alliance Decal, do not know if the whole plane has been paint
27 Drerx7 : What type of birds are these?
28 IAHcsr : 728 > 73G, 859 > 753 859 won't be painted as it's in IND for winglet installation. Painting is done at AMA and HKG.

30 Lincoln : Yup... and if they have elite status on DL/NW/etc. CO makes the elite status comp relatively painless -- I know because I jumped ship at the beginnin
31 KL911 : What? You need glasses my friend.... Star is by far the worst livery ever, with oneworld a close second. Nothing beats the silver/blue Sky livery.
32 Post contains images FlyPBA : from the webcast this morning ...
33 Post contains images Iad51fl : Here is a photo from the Company site. Looks Great!
34 YXwatcherMKE : I have not been a big fan of the Star Alliance Livery. It is to plain. Also the Airlines tile is to small. I think it should be some kind of blending

41 VC10er : Does anyone know the grand total of Star Allinace aircraft (with the *A livery) there are flying today?
42 FLY2TUS : On the 28th it flew EWR-LHR, then back to EWR the next day where it went off to MAD and back.
43 BrianDromey : It was in DUB yesterday, I believe. I think it looks good. The CO logo appears to be in Black, however, should this not be blue?
44 STT757 : CO has been in Australia for years, GUM-CNS 737-800.

47 CO777DAL : Well they just ruined a perfectly good CO aircraft with that junk written all over it. I almost never complain about a livery, but I think STAR livery
48 Kiwiandrew : So, reading between the lines I get the impression that you dont really like it very much. Have I understood you correctly ?

55 SlimShady : I dont necessarily disagree. I think they took a great paint scheme and made it look much worse. "When in Rome" I guess.. Doesn't make it right thoug
