Good afternoon everyone,
I was at Opa Locka Airport this afternoon and wanted to inform you all of three new arrivals that I also got to go on as well as update you on what is occuring at OPF. Please see below:
-Former GF 763 is at the airport. It is MSN 24485 and is now registered as N181AQ. It is without titles and was formerly A40-GI. It will not be scrapped. It arrived on 14OCT and will be at OPF for approximately two months.
-Varig 733 PP-VOY recently arrived and is in full colors on the ramp.
-Fuerza Aerea Mexicana 732, FAM3520, arrived yesterday for a heavy check at Air1.
-Air France A320 F-GFKO is not seen anywhere outdoors and is assumed to be in one of the hangars being salvaged. The aircraft will be scrapped
-GOL's 733 PR-GLH is at Air1's ramp with only titles.
-Sistership GLG (733) is assumed in the hangar with the AF A320.
-Fuerza Aerea Boliviano C-130B FAB 61 is loading up now for departure.
-AirLib's DC-10 N956PT has been scrapped.
-Champion Air's N696CA (722) is being readied to be sold to another carrier.
-Sistership N697CA still sits
-N601GC (DC10-30), N142WE (DC10-40), PR-PLQ (722), N683CA (722), and two Embraer 120s sit at APS
-Continental 733 nose (N76354 is assumed) is in scrapping area - possibly to Velbert
-742 J2-KCV is as it has been for years.
-Platinum Air 722F N727PL is at the far end of the ramp.
-DC-8 S2-AEK is near the scrapping area with engines/no parts missing. Not known if it will be salvaged for scrap.
-DC-9 N581JM, 732 N90SW, and a number of smaller airliners are stored near the DC8.
-Dominicana's N919RW is stored without engines in full colors near those planes along with NWA's N927RC.
-Several DC-3s are active as well.
-A Convair 440 is being restored to airworthiness near the fleet of Legendary Airliners.
