Sharjah-Samara? What is the purpose of this route? Are there toruists or business people or...?

Dubai, for which Sharjah is a suitable alternative, is popular with Russians and Samara is a major city (indeed, the 6th largest in Russia). So, if there's sufficient demand - which there must be, for Ural starts Samara-Dubai on 27th October - then great. I wonder whether we'll see more Russian cities (Air Arabia did serve Moscow but had range issues with its aircraft according to their Business Development Manager that I spoke to).

Did a quick search and found that Dubai has links to Moscow (including Transaero 747s), Rostov, Novosibirsk, Samara (from 27th Oct) and Yekaterinburg - all major cities.

Sharjah apparently also has flights to Chelyabinsk, Krasnodar, Makhachkala, etc.

And how far is Sharjah from Dubai? How long would be to drive/fly the distance?

Why don't you just use www.google.com? OK, I'll help you on this occasion: SHJ is very close - I thought this was common knowledge - at around 10 miles or whatever, although it can take a while in peak traffic.  Wink

Interesting move, Sharjah-Samara. The batch of new routes from CMN will be quite interesting to monitor.
I wonder when we'll see SHJ-CMN. I expect they'll need A330s for that. I hope they don't use the future hub in Egypt (CAI, SSH, don't think they've said) I don't mind changing planes, but to get from say, India to the UK on Air Arabia, you'll need to fly BOM-SHJ-CAI-CMN-STN. Yikes.

They are adjacent-- 5 or 10 minutes depending on where you want to go.

Dont remind me of the unbearable traffic. Big grin haha But, I guess you answered your own thought; thursday afternoon is like a small version of Judgement Day. But, on days without traffic its an easy 10 minute ride.

Does Bologna have strong links to Morocco? Jet4you currently serve this route as well, and BLQ seems to have more flights to Morocco than other large Italian cities such as Venice or Naples

Presumably, otherwise 3O and 8J wouldn't operate 8 weekly services between them!

Incidentally, there are around 500,000 Moroccans in Italy.
