Very nice. I like the flag on the wingtip but it will never look as good as the 743's IMHO. End of an era.

Indeed, very nice picture. The A340 is a good size plane for Surinam Airways I presume.  Smile

Nice, like it but a shame the 743 will be no more here.

That said, this is a better sized plane for them & more economical too.

Nice looking aircraft, for me the 340-300 is one of the best looking aircraft out there. When will this aircraft enter service?

The scheme is definitely stylish and in very good taste. Wish more airlines would be creative like that.

I like that too, very nice!!! I also notice the aircraft has more stripes and more different orange colors compared to their 733 fleet.

I think so too. It looks to be the right decision for them and I wish them all the best and good luck and hope to see them in CUR soon!!!

I like it. It gets a  thumbsup  from me. Wish the flag was a bit more stylized on the wingtip though. Titles could be either a bit bigger or more forward on the fuselage.

On another note, I've never seen the horizontal stab trimmed that far downward!

Sad that the 747-300 had to go, it is an end of an era but the A340-300 is a good replacement. It looks very nice and I could not think of a better replacement !!!

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

PY has come a long way after their "All DC8" days!
After the first DC8-63 "25 November" and the DC8-55M "Sabaku" we saw a few Arrow Air DC8-62s and eventually another -63 "Stanvaste" that was joined by the oher -62 "Anthony Nesty" that PY lost in 1989.

Ofcourse there was the 737-20 and MD80 series, now the 733s but those never made it to Amsterdam!

This pic was taken in the early 80s, the frequent fuel stop in Santa Maria!

Nice colors, even tough the combination of yellow and orange is something that reminds me of the early 90's and the 80's... Looks nice, a bit retro in my opinion!
Good job!

Which routes will it fly? Only to Paris or...?

It won't fly to Paris at all... it's main purpose is the PBM-AMS-PBM route. It may fly other routes on an ad hoc basis though...

Maybe it is what I mentioned in my first post here. There seem to be more orange color types in the wavy cheatlines compared to the livery on their 733 fleet. Maybe that's the mistake?

Agree, I think the color is a bit off. I think the third line needs to go below the first line!!

Well, from reliable sources I know that PY's flights from AMS to PBM were nearly always fully booked, but they only fly the route 4 times a week. Will they expand their frequency on this route flying with the 343?

There are some rumors that they will add a second A343 next year as bookings are very high for next year already.

I think the A343 will now allow PY to do more flights less expensively because the older 743 was very expensive to operate. The A343 with its size and better operating efficiency can probably justify more flights with this single aircraft alone. The second A343 will allow PY to do daily flights to AMS from PBM and vice versa of course. Just my opinion.
