I thought this was a pretty hilarious article written by a journalist currently working for the L.A. Times who used to have to fly as part of the job to get from story to story.....

My favorite quotes:

"Oh, come on," his co-pilot said. "Be a man."

"...we were rushed onboard by an attendant with big hair and bright butterfly wings of blue eye shadow...." (poster's note: I think I've met this flight attendant!)

"It was a Tu-134, the kind of plane that had an emergency rope, not a slide."

Here's a link to read it for yourself:

Have a nice day.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts."

"At the last moment, the pilot dragged the machine from its descent and began skimming just a few yards above the ground, rising to avoid trees and electrical wires, dipping into valleys. Finally I understood. This was terrain flying, Russian-style."

lol wow, great article. Thanks for posting that, what a joy to read!  thumbsup
