Talk now of JJ/TP merger, DL having been one of the interested parties in getting BD from LH.
How many other mergers have there been with such large distances between the home markets? How do they best become a cohesive company?

How about SQ's 49% stake in Virgin?

100% mergers across international boundaries have historically been hampered by regulation. It's changed somewhat, especially in the EU, but is still true for US carriers.

Didn't PanAm own a bunch of S. American airlines back in the Clipper days?
