Clear question: how far is LH in installing PTV in their 744? Any idea when all 744's will have PTV? How big is the change to get a refitted 744 on their EZE-flights in February/March 2010?
I did a search, but last topic dates from MAY '09.

sorry, thats not correct!
Lufthansa still intends to install PTV on 17-19 of their 30 B744, starting in the second half of 2010!
That is the actual status.
Here you can find an ongoing update about LH's fleet details: http://www.mucforum.de/showthread.php?t=23834

As MUCFLYER has stated some 17-19 B744 will get PTVs in second half of 2010.
One test B744 will get screens already in a first half of 2010.
Apart from PTVs LH will also change current monitors to LCDs, all lights (including reading lights) will be replaced with LED lights, Entrance area at 2L will be freshened up and toilets will get a makeover as well.
B744 will not get a new First class, but existing one will be upgraded by only booking with 8 pax in upper deck (16 seats), so each pax will have its own seat and adjacent one will be already converted to bed.
On B748 LH will move First to A section as will only be 8 seats there, also it is planned for a new business class to be introduced with B748 (arrival 2011).
A380 will have a new First class (8 seats), improved business class, and new economy class in terms of new entertainment system Panasonics eX2.
Due to original delivery dates already in 2007, LH didn't plan to introduce a new business product on A380 as their current C class was only 4 years old then, and design freeze deadline had to be made.
LH has an option to put the new seats only from aircraft no.7 and onward which should have coincide with arrival of B748.........but as B748 will now be delivered only in 4Q of 2011, it is yet to be seen whether the new c class will be launched with A380 or B748.
I bet LH will wait B748 for PR reasons!
