EK Dropped A380 LHR Double Daily?

A few months ago, with a bit of fanfare, EK announced EK1, 2, 3 & 4 would be operated by A380's, meaning a double daily into LHR. After the announcement my December EK4 flight booking was indeed changed from a 77W to A380

Noticed last night that my EK4 flight has returned to a 77W. Wondered if this was just a "run of the mill" EK equipment change, or has EK dropped the proposal and reverted back to the A380 on just EK1 & 2?

I should think 90%+ of passengers are connecting to onward flights via EK's hub. They carry a lot of traffic UK-India, Far East Austrilasia etc...

Don't forget to add in BA and VS services to DXB. Around 160,000 pax flew on LHR-DXB in August on 8? daily services. Compare that to the 340,000 pax on LHR-NYC on the 19? or so services. (BA = 7, VS 4, DL 2, CO 3, AA 3?). Course we'd need to know what the available capacity on both sectors to work out the loads.

Really?!? Ok, I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, but I thought the lowest demand flight pair was still an A332. Is that seasonal, or am I just showing I've been on a.net too long.  old 

I see the departure times from LHR to DXB are 08:50 (EK008), 13:45 (EK002), 16:35 (EK030), 20:00 (EK004), and 22:00 (EK006). I would assume the E030 is the least popular flight (hence the last added, highest flight number, I assume)? (Note I'm asking.)

I hope EK 4 remains A380, I am booked on EK4 in june, am off to the atlantis/palm for my 30th birthday, so the ride on the A380 was to make it extra special!!

As I know, AA has 5 daily from JFK to LHR and VS has only 2.
I might be wrong but that's what I read......

I don't believe that A332s have been used into LHR for a while (I haven't seen one there for some time). Although EK can change their equipment around, which I'm not complaining about  Wink, the normal complement at the moment is:

1 x A388
2 x B77W
2 x B773

per day.

Well, the seat map for Business Class on EK1 in mid-Jan is a mass of availability. All my other EK flights (EK4, 770 & 771 - all 777's) the cabin seems pretty full

According to to EK timetable which you can download it to your desktop from emirates.com it shows in December flights EK3/4 on A380 are 4 times a week, every Wed, Sat, Sun and Mon.

Tue, Thur and Fri will be 77W.

Starting from January EK 3/4 on A380 will become daily.

Now which is accurate the EK site itself or the timetable which is downloaded from the same site?? I even updated the timetable.

Timetables are just being changed at the moment, hence any inconsistencies.

Only UK airport with A332 is NCL. 80% of UK traffic is connecting.

Not that a sample from two days is any measure of average loadings but we flew LHR-DXB-LHR on the EK A388 back in January this year .... the aircraft was pretty much full in Business on the way out (we flew J outbound) and Economy was full on the way back.

Slgihtly off topic, to give you some idea of the depth of EK's connection traffic, we were flying LHR-DXB-KIX.

On the return, just a couple of hours before we transitted through DXB, our friends had also done so routing MAN-DXB-MLE, and another friend was also there at the same time as us routing KUL-DXB-MAN; one of our fellow passengers on the return was flying SEZ-DXB-LHR on EK then onwards to YUL on AC. EK have massive connecting traffic in DXB, probably the largest part of their business so A388's can quickly be filled.

If this pax number is just for the LHR to DXB sector it will give an average load of 645 pax per flight, a little high isn't it? I assume it should be the total number of pax traveled between the 2 citys, which gives a average load of 322 pax per flight.
