Starting 2/11/10 DL will be adding a 3rd nonstop in the market using NW A319 aircraft. Perhaps this is one of the first steps for DL beefing up its LGA presence. The new flight schedules are listed below:

Looks like a decent businessperson's schedule. I'm a bit surprised about the X236 flights, as this forces people to connect on Tues and Wed at those times, but I'm sure DL has studied the numbers....

Anyway, congrats MSY.

Traffic, particularly business traffic, is lower on Tues/Wed.

And perhaps especially so at MSY, as I said, DL surely studied the numbers.

Looks like they all say 320 to me.

using NW A319 aircraft.

Are there plans in the work to refurbish NW aircraft to Delta interiors? I was recently on an NW DC-9 and A-319. The DC-9 had the new Delta slim back blue leather seats and was comfier than the old cloth seats on the A-319 (and I usually prefer cloth!).

The res system I use shows "32S" for all A320-series aircraft...DL.com shows A319.

Hence the reason why it is so cheap to travel on Tues/Wed

Good for MSY! New Orleans has recently seen the return of regularly scheduled international service (AM to MEX), F9 will [finally] be back next summer, and service to STL will be preserved - in fact, WN's 737s will be a major upgrade from those AA RJs! I wonder if even more flights can be resumed/added in the near future. UA has sure been adding quite a bit to its SFO hub lately (PIT, MSP, and now STL), perhaps MSY could be next. I would think AirTran from MKE or Midwest from MCI or MKE would do well, as would Spirit from FLL. Would a return of AC to YYZ or an all new AS to SEA be such a stretch, either?

Flying in the middle seat of coach is much better than not flying at all!

Yes. It just takes some time. You appear to have been on one of the DC-9-50's that already had the new leather seat covers put in place. All aircraft that are in the long term fleet plan will be getting new leather seat covers. They are currently in process of doing such. Most will be done by the end of the year. Keep in mind they are not replacing the entire seat, just putting on leather seat covers instead of the cloth.
