I am traveling to VCE in April and plan to fly CO/LH via IAH and FRA. Last week, after CO joined Star Alliance, I did find code shares at the CO website. Later last week, when I went back to the CO website, CO was only offering connections via EWR and FCO with the Italy leg on AZ-no LH connections at all!
This does not make much sense. Why the regression to AZ? Anyone from CO have an explanation.

I'm pulling up on co.com for 4/1
SAT-IAH-FRA on CO, then connecting to LH FRA-VCE
okay, I'm waiting for the rich to spread the wealth around to me. Please mail your checks to my house.

I had a similar problem, trying to book a trip to DXB on CO website. I got flights connecting with BA , LHR-DXB and BA is not even a Star Alliance member! I also saw flights connecting via CDG on AF, but in both cases, OnePass miles would be earned on CO flights only! Called the C?S and was told, oh, the system must be going through some updates!!!
Perhaps some CO a-net folks can shed a light into this!

I'm sure you could get it all *A with CO from IAD-DXB on UA or FRA-DXB on LH.
Just my 0.02
The opinions I post are of mine and mine alone, not of the airline I work for.

CO website recently expanded search using all airlines, especially by price. Before it was mainly codeshared partners, or alliance partners if you were looking for reward travel. If you're particular about the LH codeshare, you may want to create itinerary via schedule and see if those segments pop up or you could force the stop at FRA using the "multiple destination" option and do separate IAH-FRA, FRA-VCE, VCE-FRA, FRA-IAH or separate segments.
