Looking threw the pictures of Midwest (Republic) E90s and I noticed they say Midwest Connect… why? Now that the E90 are replacing the 717 and becoming the backbone of the new Midwest, shouldn’t they say Midwest? Or is Republic calling the old Midwest, Midwest Connect now? Also with the E90s showing up in Denver I’m guessing they will be Midwest. So without Direct TV! If I booked a flight on Frontier and I saw Midwest at my gate. I honestly wouldn’t be to happy. I would feel cheated. For those who bought tickets and paid extra for the Direct TV at the time of purchased, are they going to be reimbursed?
And forget me for changing topics, I was looking at a Continental timetable and saw they have flights on RJ’s 3 hours plus. So I got thinking it would be nice if some (If not all) of Expressjet ERJs that they used for their own airline with Satiate radio on the flights 2 hours plus. I know that will never happen. But it would be nice!

The connect titles will be removed as the days progress. Same thing with the 170's. Midwest will be the 170-190 fleets and Midwest Connect will be the 135/145. All the 190's will still be in YX livery, the 319/320's will still currently be in the 9 livery. For now. Over time I believe all the aircraft will say Republic Airlines on them. As it will be branded for one carrier. DirecTV will hopefully be offered across the board as will the cookies. We have some 190's that have IFE setup in place, just not installed. So we will see.

Personally I Think that if Republic is going to try to mix and match the a/c and on board services etc. then I think the YX a/c should have Direct TV as well. It's only fair. But I also think to do one better would be having WI-Fi for half the price FL charges.

It's only fair.

There are at least 2 words in life that are fictitious. Utopia and Fair. Life is not Fair nor will it ever be.

Do not look for this upgrade, RP has purchased these 2 brands at a steal. They will focus on the combined synergies and maintain them before they are sold off.

Or - sell off part of it (Frontier/Midwest) in an IPO, make a huge bunch of money and still retain control.

Republic has very good reasons for believing that they need to diversify their revenue streams and that only works if the combo is as good as it can be.

Even if they wanted to do that - and I don't know if they do - aren't the DirectTV installation lines booked pretty solid for a while?

I couldn't disagree more. Both F9 and YX have valuable brand equity especially in their respective hub markets, DEN and MKE. RP would be foolish to re-brand them into an unknown "Republic Airways". Only time will tell....just my  twocents

They may re-brand them to one name eventually... but it won't be "Republic." Why? Republic is an express carrier subject to scope clauses. Oftentimes said scope clauses say that the contracted airline can't operate ANY aircraft larger than X number of seats, even if it's for a different airline or some form of branded operation of their own.

It would either be Frontier, Midwest, or an entirely new name that evokes the same sense of spirit that Frontier and Midwest do. It will not be Republic.

Pretty much what I think as well. Initially, I thought the YX brand was going to be dropped and merged into F9, but it seems as though the top brass in Indy plan on keeping the YX brand as well as the F9 brand....will be interesting to see how everything plays out.

To answer your original question about the TV's dont be disapointed...just be aware of what you are booking. I think its probably safe to assume that if you are booked on an A319 you will have TV, for the time being, and an Embraer will likely not have TVs.

That's not a problem. All they need is a hangar and train some new people and they can open up another line. They just need enough demand to justify opening up another line.

So, assuming that is true, you are saying:

A319/A320 Frontier livery "for now"
E190 Midwest livery
E170 Midwest livery (how many E170s are at YX ?)
E135/E145 Midwest Connect
Q400 Frontier/Lynx

So the E190s flying out of Denver are in Midwest livery and the A319s flying out of MKE are in F9 livery? How long is this hodge-podge going to last?

It would not surprise me to see all planes painted with Royal Blue fuselages and animal tails soon. But the artwork will need to wait until some of the other logistics and strategies are implemented.

Meanwhile, I suspect that everyone in MKE and DEN are to some point aware of the virtual merger and will be forgiving in terms of the plane paint issues for at least 6 months, after which it might start looking amateurish.

By the way, I love the new blended menu's. It does show how well the two cultures will fit together. Just like Miller and Coors.
