With Lufthansa advising today they are no longer putting BMI up for sale, I was just curious to know what the long term plans are for BMI's frequent flyer programme - Diamond Club...
Even though BMI has suffered a bit of an identity crisis and lack of direction recently, I have always thought their FF plan is one of the best and most generous in the industry. (I'm happy to be corrected!)...
I notice every other Star Alliance airline and some others in Europe have all adopted Lufthansa's, "Miles and More" program. Leaving only BMI with their own independent program.

Have I missed something? Has SAS cancelled their EuroBonus, Turkish cancelled their Miles and Smiles, Spanair cancelled Spanair Plus, and TAP cancelled Victoria?

I am now feeling a fool!
For some reason when writing the post, I had my goggles on! Completely forgot about SAS, Spanair and TAP.
The airlines I was thinking of were, Brussels Airlines, LOT, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Adria Airways, Croatia Airlines, JAT and Aegean.

Quoting Bestwestern (Reply 3): Lufthansa advising today that nobody wanted to buy BMI.
...at the price they wanted.
Some would be surprised how tantalisingly close a sale was.
