and flatware.

Flight attendants, pilots, CS, MX and ramp are all getting new uniforms. Roadshows are starting next week to gather employee input and an online survey has been set up to
gather more information and input.

Sounds like UAL is doing it right this time unlike last uniform change with the fa's. We were more or less forced into the current drab uniform. CS has not had a change in many years
so it's nice to see a change company wide.

The only current uniform at UA that is kind of nice is the dress they have that some of the female FAs wear. Otherwise, boring.

They could take a hint from LH. Or perhaps DL?

It is already in the transition, int'l F and C already got the new china, probably you haven't flown UA lately.

Noritake was replaced with Oneida.

LOL, I am a UA flight attendant based in FRA, so yes I have flown UA lately.

I realize the china recieved an overhaul in the last few months. Pursers here in FRA have been told to expect a complete overhaul from china to uniforms. The question was asked about our current china and the answer was to expect a complete overhaul of the inflight product.

It would be a shame for either one to go...

Sheesh am I tired of the merger speculation......why would UA invest hundreds of thousands of dollars on a product transformation if they were on the eve of a merger?

Also, it is going to take an airline to go into bankruptcy before any merger would take place. Once we see one of the two file for bankruptcy, the speculation can actually begin. Until then, we're beating a dead horse

Yet another new uniform for yet another airline, but not AA. Good for UA. The current AA uniform was introduced 20 years ago, and the company has decided to piece meal something of a "refreshed" uniform with additional pieces, but not a new uniform. Flight attendants, pilots and CSRs have a new flat front pant option available next month. CSRs received new ties a year or so ago and male flight attendants will get new ones at the end of 2010, along with a new striped shirt. Female F/As get a new blouse, striped shirt and "shirt jacket." I just wish, for once, AA wouldn't half ass something and come up with a completely new uniform that is stylish, functional, and that lasts.

Our current uniform has pieces made in Poland and the US, and each is not the same blue. It's obvious when they're worn together and it looks totally tacky. It's well documented on here AA's F/As look disheveled and unprofessional at best. That's due to several reasons, not the least of which involves AA's lack of uniform enforcement along with a uniform that is outdated, uncomfortable and nearly unwearable. Plus, AA cut our uniform allotment in 2003, making it impossible for employees to keep a fresh uniform without digging into their own pockets.

It's a seat on a flight to life.

It's about time. I wouldn't even use the garbage they give us now to dry my car. Even though the company pays for the uniforms. We on the ramp rather spend our own money and buy better stuff from our local stores. Ever since they got rid of Unitog, the quality has gone down hill.

I hope they don't give the ramp the same as CS. Who gives rampers white work shirts?

With the new F and C on UA, along with a number of better products like p.s. Have UA seen a bump up in their customer satisfaction?
I think the new F and C are really beautiful and comfortable. A giant step forward from where they were.

A big bump up according to UA...both in customer satisfaction and definite intent to repurchase.

I don't care much for the new china, very chunky looking almost like the 70/80's stoneware.

Quoting TVNWZ (Reply 12):

Absolutely nothing wrong with Oneida! I have a beautiful flatware collection by them. Some could say the same about Noritake. When I hear that name I think of "The Price is Right" or "Lets Make a Deal". No Oneida isn't Royal Copenhagen, Wedgewood, Spode, Lenox, or even Royal Doulton with hand painted periwinkles. I would imagine those wouldn't handle too well on a plane, but its still a good brand.

Yes that's the joke going around that the new UA uniforms will be CO, but of course that is nonsense. You seriously think a Designer would put their name on a product that is used just as a farce?! I think not.

I guess they could do that if UA was Keeping Up Appearances.

Kudos to UA for doing this; a fresh look for the company, plus the fact they are gathering employee feedback, hopefully is a sign of better things to come.

Cynthia Rowley?

I guess Marc Jacobs wanted too much money. Or, he flies American. I did see him board a BA flight once.

Whatever the case, Rowley is not known for her structured silhouettes. This could be one big colorful mess.
