Google will now offer free wi-fi at 47 US airports thru January 15, 2010.

I thought some of these airports already had free wi-fi, including CLT and JAX (which is incorrectly listed in the release as JIA).

I was thinking the same thing. I know CLT, LAS and SMF offer free wifi. Interesting. I have seen two different numbers of airports participating. One is 47, per the release, and the other, 32, from USA Today. Perhaps USA Today is taking into account the number of airports that already offer free wifi.

SLC has free wifi every day.

As I posted in the other thread on this topic this morning (that seems to have disappeared) MCO has free wifi already - I used it yesterday.

The "news" comes across as a bit misleading since a number of these locations were already providing the service to airport patrons.
