Since AmericanConnection/RegionsAir ended service to STL in 2004, LAF, the second-busiest airport in Indiana, has lacked commercial air service.
However, a study is now being undertaken by Greater Lafayette Commerce on whether LAF can support commercial air service again. UAX/AA (Eagle or Connection/RP) to ORD is being mentioned as a possible destination, and I could see DL Connection to DTW or G4 running service to SFB as possibilities as well. Notably, LAF could be updated for $10,000 or less to the latest standards. And since RegionsAir (oh, the horror!) pulled out, Purdue's student and faculty numbers have increased, plus business has boomed (Discovery Park and Toyota being two prime examples).
But can service from LAF flourish with IND an hour away?
