TG announced a couple of months ago that they were upgrading their daily BKK-BOM flight to a 744 for the Winter.

However they seem to have changed their mind -- the flight now shows as a 772.

Too bad, was looking forward to a 744 ride on TG!

Probably the 777-200A, why use an ER from Bangkok to Mumbai ?

TG were going to operate 11 weekly B744s, but now I believe they have settled for daily B772s and 4 weekly A333s.

There is lot of competition on the BOM - BKK sector, with 9W, IC, CX, along with TG.

The TG website shows the aircraft as '777-200/777-200ER'. So I guess it varies.

Is TG's ER much different from the regular 772 from a passenger perspective?

The ER version has then newer (improved) seat design for Royal Orchid Class, and PTV's in every seat in Economy along with mood lighting. The 772A's have the first generation lie flats with no PTVs in Economy.

Well, TG do fly their 772ER into KUL on a regular basis.
