Will The "real" Swissair Ever Return To Man?

Also, anyone know of any other new routes starting at MAN or rumoured.

I thought their Airbus 320 family were to be used again from June according to releases in the late winter, or has that been changed. The 146 lease is due to end shortly.

Just checked on Swissair's site and the Flightline 146 now continues through to October at least.

BTW, anyone like to say what and when the last British type was that appeared in Swissair colours?

Plans 'WERE' in place for SR to bring back A320s to man for this summer but I guess the people with the cheque book intervened as this ain't happening now.

PhilB: Swissair DID use the 1-11 for a short while. A series 200 was leased from British Eagle from April to November 1967 and was then replaced by a 300 series until April 1968.

Yes it was the 1-11 and Swissair did use 2 as Servisair says, painted in their colours.

SAS also leased British Eagle 1-11s whilst waiting for the DC9-21

Just found another Swissair 1-11, this time from 1970.

G-AWYS, of BUA with a red cheatline, Swissair titles, Swissair aircraft logo by the front door and "operated by British United Airways" titles. Taken at MAN during the summer of 1970 and published in First and Foremost,
1978.

Just got back in the country. The plans were for Crossair to take over the route using ARJ's. Then Crossair found that SR had other plans for them. The 146 service continues until the foreseeable future (despite the huge passenger resistance to the service - myself included). SR and SN were getting earache from the cargo community as the plane used to regularly leave freight behind.
