Boeing 767-300 Winglets List (Updated Weekly)

Hey Guys,

I was having a discussion with a fellow spotter last weekend about which airline came first with B767-300 winglets and which operators around the World were using them, so I decided to research and compile a list of airlines with active B763W and I've ordered them from first to last in having received winglets and noted the confirmed registrations which each airline has with winglets, I hope we can keep this thread alive and that people all over the World contribute to any new additions or any regs I am missing as well if I placed an airline in wrong order in terms of having received winglets:

As of November 25th 2009, 13 airlines have Boeing 767-300ER in operation with fitted winglets:

1. American Airlines - N345AN / N370AA / N373AA / N389AA / N399AN
2. Delta Air Lines - N1607B / N1608 / N1609 / N1610D / N1611B / N1612T / N1613B / N185DN / N191DN / N192DN
3. Austrian Airlines - OE-LAE / OE-LAX / OE-LAY / OE-LAZ
4. LAN Airlines - CC-CDP / CC-CWF / CC-CWG / CC-CWH / CC-CWN / CC-CWY / CC-CXC / CC-CXE / CC-CZW
5. TUIfly Nordic - SE-RFS
6. Condor - D-ABUA / D-ABUB / D-ABUC / D-ABUD / D-ABUE / D-ABUZ
7. Air New Zealand - ZK-NCG / ZK-NCJ / ZK-NCK / ZK-NCL
8. LAN Cargo - CC-CZY / CC-CZZ / N312LA / N418LA
9. ABSA Cargo Airline - PR-ABD
10. LAN Ecuador - HC-CGZ
11. Hawaiian Airlines - N581HA / N587HA
12. Thomson Airways - G-OBYD / G-OBYF
13. DHL Air - G-DHLE / G-DHLF / G-DHLG

Regards,
Tomas.

I don't have any information regarding which 767-300s have had winglets added. But I have to say, the 767-300 with winglets is one of the most beautiful looking aircraft on the planet, in any livery.

Does anyone know, is United Airlines planning on ordering winglets for their 767-300s?

No, all B763F as well, I have already mentioned LAN Cargo's 4 767F with winglets, as a matter of fact, here are a couple of photos I took last week of CC-CZZ in SJO, I really nailed her!

So, according to that list, LAN's got the most (including cargo) followed by DL with UA, US, and CO failing to score. Anything in the works for them?

US, and CO

US and CO do not operate any 767-300. The winglets are not approved for the 762. Clearly, the 764 is also off-limits because its wing design is different.

Nope! No AC B763 have winglets on them. I don't believe they are getting them anymore but things change daily. With 787s being so late now they still might do it.

We'll be ferrying N582HA from Everett to SEA on Saturday (11/28) so it can work its first revenue flight out of SEA on Sunday the 29th. Also on Sunday we'll ferry N580HA to PAE to begin its winglet installation.

Just to clarify, the 767-400ER has raked wingtips as standard equipment. The raked wingtips provide many of the same benefits as blended winglets, although they take up more room. I would be interested to see if Boeing ever offers the raked wingtips on the BBJ2 (like on the P-8) instead of winglets or if there would ever be a reason to do so.

How many DL 763ERs will be receiving winglets? AA?

Does anyone know if UA is going to have them installed on their 763ERs too? It would seem logical if they did since they use them on a their flights to Europe & Russia.

Does QF have any need to install them as well? They don't send the 76s to HKG, NRT, SIN etc anymore? Are the flights that are not 744s, 330s and a 380 here and there on the way to Heathrow?

Winglets are beneficial on short flights as well. They will still save gas and provide a better climb rate but the biggest advantage for high cycle schedules is that the winglets will allow a bigger derate on takeoffs to save wear and tear on the powerplants.

There was a 763 ferried to PAE Sun 11/29. Can't find the reg# on acars but supposed to be N580HA going in next.

Yes, it is N580HA. I ferried that plane SEA-PAE on Sunday (empty plane, 22 minutes enroute - lots of fun!). The people at ATS who do the installation said they're getting faster too - our first plane took over a month. Now they expect to get 580 done in about 19 days. They'll take a break over the holidays, then start up with the next plane some time in January.
