According to the article El Al is seeking a new US airline partnership other than the current one with AA.

Wonder who would that be?

Quoting SeaMeFly (Thread starter):

El Al should be working first and foremost with Israeli authorities to get Israel back to Category I which will allow quick resumption of the American Airlines partnership and Miami route.

Not sure who else they might want to codeshare with, but just about anybody could work. El Al isn't going to any alliance soon (as it would de facto preclude the addition of a major Middle Eastern carrier), so they can easily become a "codeshare whore" like Alaska.

Exactly...How a developed 1st world nation would allow itself to fall lke that is incredible. AA is really all LY needs. Covers most major cities with big Jewish/Isreali populations with its hubs/focus cities

I thought new codeshare agreements weren't allowed until you recover Category 1?

And AA is also very large in New York City, as well as Miami and Los Angeles, the next two most important trans-Atlantic markets from Tel Aviv.

You know I heard from a LY sales rep in the late summer that the carrier should be hooked up with Star, and kind blew it off.

But considering they already have had relations with AA, DL and now back to AA, maybe partnership with US Star carriers (CO-UA-US) is about all that is left for them to try.
