Hi guys,

I have noticed that some Russian airlines have "Moscow (INC)" in their schedules, for example here:

http://translate.google.com/translat...2Fwww.mapalrosa.com%2F&sl=ru&tl=en

or here:

http://translate.google.com/translat...aerobratsk.narod.ru%2F&sl=ru&tl=en

My guess is that this is just another (Russian) abbreviation for SVO. Who can confirm?

Tobias

It's Google translation that somehow has managed to translate VNK into INC. Why, I don't know. But the Russian edition of your first link is clearly using the abbreviation VNK, for Vnukovo.

No, it is not (SVO is sometimes referred to in Russian (Cyrillic) as ШРМ - short for Шереметьево); nor is it an abbreviation for any other Moscow airport - in Russian or otherwise. I agree with RedChill - must be a mistake/typo/misplaced translation.

INC is, in fact, the code for Yinchuan airport in China - http://www.world-airport-codes.com/China/yinchuan-7794.html

I agree with your reasoning although Vnukovo airport is VKO  Wink

VKO

The IATA code is VKO, and the ICAO code is UUWW,, but we're neither talking about IATA nor the ICAO here. We're talking about the commonly used Russian abbreviations (which seems like they are actually official Russian codes). They are ШРМ, ДМД and ВНК.
