Hey,

I went searching through yahoo searching for pictures of the new terminal builiding that is being completed in Trinidad. I am Trini and so there are more on this forum that would like to see this airport take shape. Here are some pictures of the new terminal building for everyone to see. I just think it looks great. It looks huge. Notice in the last picture that the jet gates are installed already and some arent. I cant wait to fly into this new airport in November when I go.

Post your comments etc.

I think the airport looks great.....POS will be one of only a few airports in the West Indies with jetways....When is the new terminal scheduled to open for passengers?

The new POS is a very splendid structure indeed. I do not have any pictures of my own yet but it looks grand. The 12 jetways are hung off 2 large wings; there are also 2 turboprop gates. Today I was in the (old) airport and noticed a BWIA 737-800 parked at one of the gates. It appears as though they were testing out the gates.

The new terminal will be Piarco's fifth terminal and will replace the present structure which dates from 1962.

Trintocan.

Yes it looks great indeed... But my question goes to the traffic figures at POS. Any ideas on terms of pax. and flights per year?

WOW very modern airport and very nice too. It looks spacious and with plenty of room to expand hopefully the traffic in POS will increase and BWIA can keep on growing. Way to go POS.

Beautiful airport. I like the flags too. At our airport (PIT) we have a similar flag arrangement only with the national flags of the countries served out of the airport.

Yeah it does look nice with the flags. My dad will be on the first largest jet into that new terminal on Wednesday. Canada 3000's A330-200 service from Toronto. Hopefully he will take some pictures and bring them back. IF he does I will post them.
