I was wondering where is aircraft N106US currently located, and does anyone know what will become of her?

Good question. The referenced article is 10 months old and doesn't tell us what long term plans are. I would love to see it displayed alongside the Intrepid and Concorde on the Hudson.

I was thinking the exact same thing, and a fitting location for sure. I just don't know if the heath issues like mold ect, can be resolved.

Me too. Im sure it would attract lots of visitors, they could also make a wax replica of Sullenberger!

Wells Fargo Bank of Salt Lake owned the aircraft. They probably sold it for scrap after the FAA released it on completion of their investigation.  old

I didnt think this aircraft would be able to be saved for scrap/display due to the Salty Sea Water?

Actually all the way down by Lower Manhattan where 1549 crashed it would be salt water. That is right by the Atlantic Ocean. It does not turn to fresh water until further north.  Smile

So it would suffer salt damage. Hopefully they can preserve it.

There were pictures hare mid summer of it being trucked out of New Jersey. It looked to have been cut into sections for easy transport. I have seen close to 50 photos taken of the aircraft after it had made it to dry land... trust me....it is not back in service and will not be saved for display. It was in VERY bad shape.. and coated in silt and mud

As I too dryly suggested before, I believe the airframe has been recycled.

This database shows the airframe as written off, so unless it has been donated to a museum or technical school, the picture below shows the most likely final destination of N106US.

Only problem... aircraft aluminum is not the same as used in drink cans... it's a myth
