Thought I'd start a fresh post here about Surinam Airways' A343....
CONGRATULATIONS to Surinam Airways!!!
TCP finally made it here in Suriname this afternoon. PZ-TCP is now named "Palulu" (a Surinamese flower) which landed just after 2pm local time. This former F-GLZG from Air France is now in stunning colors of Surinam Airways, and today it made a historic flight to SMJP/PBM.
Here are some facts:
- Today, exactly 75 Yrs ago, a Fokker F-XVIII PH-AIS made its way to PBM, from AMS (a flight which took 54hrs and 27min) thanks to a good friend in Holland for the info.
- Today, exactly 1 Month ago (Nov 13th): TCP then still in the former reg F-GLZG made its first appearance at AMS in old colors.
- Today Dec 13th, PY receives its first High Tech - Airbus (Fly By Wire aircraft), the A340-311
Also in other news, PY is going for their 2nd A343 mid next year to capture the charter market/business. PY may also be going for a dedicated Cargo Ops, aircraft possibly a full Cargo config 737.
TCP will be on the ground here at SMJP/PBM for a bit as they still have to do touch and goes as well as do their Demo flight which is still uncertain. Looks like they want to shoot for next week but I have my doubts as some of the stuff is possibly not yet ready. Lets see what this week brings.
Here are some photos:
TCP doing a flyby @ 700ft above the RWY!
Just after 2pm local, TCP touches down on RWY 11 @ JAP Int'l Airport, Zanderij
TCP taxies with flags past the Glider Club turning off on TWY "C" for a wash-IN.
TCP receives an ARFF Water Canon Salute (wash-in), by one of the airports latest addition ARFF Trucks (the one with the snozzle)
TCP taxies to the PY hangar with flags raised out of the windows, to proceed to the official ceremony and unveiling of its new name "Palulu".

Will she be fitted with a new interior or will she keep the standard AF interior?

The Business Class has Air France L'Espace 127 Business Class seats, a generation before the current Air France L'Espace Affaires (NEV) seats.
Regarding Economy Class seats, I have no idea what airlines they're from. The only thing I do know is that they're not from Air France nor from KLM. The seats do have PTV's though, not sure if they work though...
Forgot to add, the carpet is the Air France carpet.

Also PY is planning on operating 4 to 6 flights per week AMS-PBM v.v.
And i believe they are the same as AF, even the same curtains are used + the all blue interior unless that is just a standard package you get from leasing from ILFC.
Here is a link you can follow of the arrival at SMJP, from the STVS News team. (It is in Dutch though, but images speak a 1000 words right!)
Thx for these pics! It actually looks stunning. I have never been a fan of white airliners, but somehow this livery is alive and is a far cry from booooring Eurowhite liveries, (Lufthansa, Iberia and the likes).
